I love the phrase, “I just need a minute.” It means more than actually just taking a minute. For me, it means I need a pause … to sit still and just “be” for a period of time (longer than an actual minute!). Needing a minute is kind of like what my BFF work friend used to tell me, “When you don’t know what to do, just sit still.” Otherwise, we (I) tend to react without thinking. But if we just sit still, sleep on it, ignore it, or get caught up in other things, we can usually flush out what we need, what we need to do or not do for that matter. So that’s what I’ve been doing all summer. I needed a minute to get over radiation, which who knew, would hit me weeks AFTER I was finished. I needed to just process mentally what I had been through and realize it’s now behind me. I needed the summer to stop worrying about breast cancer. I needed a minute to get my daughter home from college and adjust to the piles and piles in the middle of our garage. I needed a minute to relish not wearing a mask and enjoy life again which included lots of meals out, shopping of course and a little bit of travel to the mountains and beach. Sadly, we are back in the masks but wasn’t it glorious when we didn’t have to wear them? To be honest, I had a number of blog ideas and stories to share with you but for whatever reason, I just didn’t want to sit down and write. Has that ever happened to you? I felt a little stuck and when that happens, I avoid whatever it is I’m stuck on. Then, after a period of time, I decide to get on with it. So this is me, getting on with it! I don’t need a minute anymore.

Oh By The Way, I have been reading like crazy this summer. I ended up down a rabbit hole about the Holocaust. But I also managed some other great reads. The Last Thing He Told Me is so good as is The Indigo Girl. Pick those first if you need an end of summer read or a great book to listen to on your walks. Here are a few of my recommendations:
